San Miguel de Allende

I have been asked the question as to how I can go back to one place for 17 years; perhaps this picture [gratefully provided by a friend] will partially explain why!

While in San Miguel de Allende I produced quite a volume of work; four of these watercolours are reproduced below.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton

Just before Christmas, Bill Schwarz generously donated a 4′ x 5′ oil painting to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hamilton to enhance and enliven its “games” room.

Bill did so because he firmly believes that the only way to an end is to start at the beginning. To give young people the opportunity to live with art in their everyday surroundings not only helps them today, but gives them an appreciation for art tomorrow.

The kids made comments like: “Wow!” “Awesome!” “Look at the colours!” Marlena Sokolowska, Early Years Coordinator: “Having the artwork here speaks volumes that it should be accessible to all people.”

Merry Christmas and a Happy 2017 to all . . . . . young and old!

Saint Luke’s Place

Bill Schwarz donated a 4′ x 5′ oil painting to Saint Luke’s Place towards its “Welcome Home” Capital Campaign. The painting has been temporarily hung in Stenhouse Hall until it is moved to the newly developed facility. “Pumpkin Hill” was chosen in a Name-the-Painting Contest for Saint Luke’s Place residents which drew over 50 entries.

Alison Haddaway, Director of Donor Relations: “On behalf of the Saint Luke’s Place Community we are honoured to receive this beautiful donation from Bill Schwarz. His artistic talent and eye for colour will be enjoyed by our residents, family members, staff and volunteers for years to come.”
